Ryan Gifford was born in Plantation, Florida. He attended Roger Williams University, where he majored in history.
Ryan started at Florentine Films as an intern, working on Horatio’s Drive: America’s First Road Trip, broadcast on PBS in 2003. He stayed on to work as an assistant sound editor on Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson, then as an assistant editor/sound editor on The War, for which he received an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Sound Editing”, and most recently as an associate editor/sound editor on The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.
He is currently working on Prohibition.
