The Filmmakers | Richard Rubin

Richard Rubin

In 2000 Richard Rubin made the decision to leave a 16-year career in the printing and pre-press industry to pursue a career in documentary filmmaking.  After returning to school and earning a B.A. in broadcast production from Temple University, Rich joined Florentine Films as an intern in 2004. He was then hired to assist the producers of The National Parks; America’s Best Idea, a six-part series. Richard has been responsible for the animations at Florentine and is now an Assistant Editor on Prohibition and The Dust Bowl. He lives in Amherst, Massachusetts, with his wife, Karen, and their three daughters, Allison, Diane and Jessica. “I consider myself fortunate to be able to work in such a creative and enriching environment. All the people at Florentine are first-rate and I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else!”
