Chris is a graduate of Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, where he concentrated in cinematography and nonfiction film. Joining Florentine as an intern in the summer of 2005, he first began working on The National Parks: America’s Best Idea and was later hired as a post-production associate on The War.
In the summer of 2006, Chris changed settings from the editing house to the business office, again working on The War and The National Parks, but this time in an administrative capacity. As assistant to the director, Chris contributed to: The Tenth Inning, Prohibition, The Central Park Five, The Dust Bowl and The Roosevelts.
In 2010, with the sesquicentennial of the Civil War rapidly approaching, Chris worked closely with PBS to create a Commemorative Edition of the 1990 series The Civil War. As part of this, Chris co-produced a 40-minute compilation of never-before-seen interview outtakes of Shelby Foote.
Most recently, since the fall of 2012, Chris has been co-producing The Address, a feature-length documentary about a group of boys from the Greenwood School, Putney, VT, and their journey to overcome myriad learning differences to memorize and present the Gettysburg Address, a right of passage at the school. It will air on PBS in April 2014.
